Why are they closing profitable dealerships? These Dealerships don't cost the auto company's a dime; they pay their own way. So why are they being closed? Could there be any politics involved here? I would say not, because here is no proof of foul play so far. So I will give the Obama Administration the benefit of the doubt; there is no proof. The bigger question is why are they letting any of these dealerships go at all? Why not just let the ones that are not profitable fail? GM (Government Motors) says that they will save 100 dollars per car with their dealership closing plan. That doesn't seem like a whole lot of money to me when you are talking about a 25,000 dollar auto. And it seems kind of foolish to get rid of dealerships that are profitable, the ones that will be selling your cars in the future. But what really bothers me is that they are cutting profitable dealerships while at the same time they are giving the union's part ownership in the company along with the United States Government. Now if that's not a recipe for disaster, then I don't know what is. I can only tell you one thing for certain, I will not under any circumstance buy a car from an auto manufacturer that is owned buy the US government and the auto workers unions, it's just not going to happen. Now for the most important thing of all, the rule of law. I'm sure that we all know what the rule of law is and its importance to our Republic. Without the rule of law, then we have chaos and tyranny. So you ask, what does the rule of law have to do with this bailout. The answer is that it has everything to do with it. It started with King George, otherwise known as President Bush. He was the first to throw the rule of law out the window; he had no use for it.Last fall as you will recall, the Bush Administration went to congress for authorization to bailout the auto industry. The House passed an auto bailout bill, but the Senate did not, it was filibustered. So how did King George respond to this? What he did was to simply overrule them, he went around them and used money from the TARP fund that congress had previously authorized to bailout fanatical institutions such as banks. So by using those funds to bailout the auto industry, Bush was breaking the law, therefore there was no rule of law; he was acting as tyrants act. Now here comes Obama doing the same thing, and there is still no outcry. Why? I'll tell you why. Its called apathy, the people no longer want to be bothered with self-governance. They are quite content with shopping, playing video games, watching sports, and having multiple orgasms while talking on their cell phones. So pretty much our Republic is finished, we the people have failed it. So if you want to do something to help save your Republic, then you will need to call or mail your Representative and two Senators. Ask them what law the President was, and is acting under when he gives the auto industry money. Ask them if they have appropriated any money for this purpose. Ask them if they have given up their constitutional authority to be the ones in charge of the government's purse strings. Just ask them something. Please take part in the government that we created. It is our government, they work for us, but we must do our part, or it will fail. jbranstetter04
